Lindsey
Oil Refinery
Following
on from the successful negotiations that the
Union
and GMB
shop stewards were involved in, they are now recommending a return to
work.
All
the dismissals will be rescinded and, all the conditions that we set,
for a positive return to work have been set.
I
would like to take this opportunity of thanking everybody that was
involved, and particularly thanking shop stewards at Lindsey Oil
Refinery and around the rest of the country, for their solidarity and
also, the fantastic work done by Shaun Clarkson, John Wilson and lead
negotiator, National Secretary Phil Davies who did a magnificent
job.
It
is imperative, that we now maintain discipline, as we build up our
organisation in preparation for the pay and job security struggle which
we must now deal with on a national basis.
Best
wishes. Well done!
PAUL
KENNY, General Secretary

STUC
– ‘Foreign Secretary out of step on
trade union boycott of Israel’
The
Scottish Trades Union Congress (STUC) today (Wednesday 24 June) rejected
the Foreign Office’s “dismay” at trade union’s supporting
boycotts of Israel, and suggested this is an indication that the UK
Government is out of step with the views of workers on this matter.
