Lord
Young report raises fears of H&S Cuts
A
recent article
in The Times based on an interview with Lord Young, who is special
advisor to the Prime Minister on health and safety and compensation
issues raises great fears for the future of Health and Safety in the
workplace. He has also been asked to review health and safety legislation and report to
the Prime Minister by the end of the summer. click

The
next UHSS meeting will be discussing the Young review and will receive a
report on the actions that the TUC is taking to protect workers right to
legal protection.
Please do not forget to
send examples of where health and safety regulation, enforcement
activity, or union safety representatives have made a difference in the
workplace.
